In October 2007, Defense Secretary Robert Gates coined a generic term to describe the most challenging combatants when waging unconventional warfare. He called them simply “the people in between.” Those people, a dominant force in mainstream American media, comprise a fifth column in support of those skilled at waging war by way of deception.
Jeff’s article is well done, and his selection and focus on Wolf Blitzer is an excellent choice to highlight the system and the process. I recall, The “Gulf War was, basically, brought to us live by CNN.” On the ground, we saw the two stars of and in action. Peter Arnett in downtown Baghdad , pretty much alone after all of the other journalists had moved on to safer zones. This was pure Pete Arnett in action.
To cut a short story longer, Well, I was old enough to remember distinctly seeing there on the big screen in the corner, Peter Arnett, live, describing what it sounded like when a missile came screaming down the street in front of his Hotel in Baghdad.
Yep! he was right there, where the truth was happening reporting for CNN.
At the other end of the screen, sharing time with him between missiles, was this little man with the big Rambo name, “Wolf.”
Wolf Blitzer, bringing you the war, first hand, from Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, or wherever he was. Back there making good face time with the guys who were really running the war. Wolf Blitzer, a key player in the Zionist/CNN propaganda machine which works closely with US Public Dis and misinformation services in AIPAC governed Washington DC.
It was not a hellova lot safer back there, too… scuds were not aimed, they just went where they will, but they can land anywhere, and usually go bang. And, I remember he did have to break and run for cover from one which came in close enough to be heard…. or was that off-stage management? More deception?
It was obvious then, that these two were a team, bringing to the world their first, real-time, online, live war. Right in our living room!
And, it was also apparent, that when the show was over, there would be one hellova scramble to see which one came out as Top CNN Banana.
A gutsy, straight shooting guy, Arnett seems to have been one who never bothered with a lie when the truth would do. For this he was charged with “unpatriotic journalism” and subsequently, walking on too many toes in his quest for the truth. He was ultimately fired from CNN for getting too close to the truth, and disenfranchised in most American mainstream media. The powers of CNN were far-reaching, not to be trifled with.
With Blitzer’s inside connections, high up in Jerusalem, and his eagerness to please, versus Arnett’s poor reputation for reporting what he was seeing instead of what the bosses wanted the viewers to think was seen, it was a “no contest.”
Israel 1, the World 0!
Wolf! What a big name for such a little man!
