Tzipi Livni: UK warrant a legal ‘abuse’
Former Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni has described an arrest warrant issued against her as “an abuse of the British legal system”.

It is the first time a UK court has issued a warrant for the arrest of a former Israeli minister.

The warrant, granted by a London court on Saturday, was revoked on Monday when it was found Ms Livni was not visiting the UK.

Ye’ah, I can well imagine that the UK/Israel ties are at risk. A nice touch of blackmail which is, of course, how this terrorist state continues to get away with the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people.

I daresay we’ll hear from the gutless Brown et al any minute now, falling over themselves, in apology.

I just wish to hell that world leaders (and I use that term loosely) had even the courage that God gave a flea when it comes to dealing with certified war criminals — Linvi definitely falls into this category. And that they would ensure that the moment Linvi, Olbert, Barak, and all others in the Israeli government/military (it’s one and the same, after all) leave Israel, they are arrested and brought to trial for war crimes. It’s what they deserve.

And certainly I would suggest that Israel needs the UK a lot more than the UK needs this vile piece of real estate and its sadistic war criminals.

Debbie Menon responded (to Angie’s comment above):

With the British Government opening inquiry and discussing Israel in critical terms, the US media simply cannot let the BBC and other British media get ahead of them and “scoop” them on such “big” news. It will all come out, sooner than we think methinks, in a big rush and a gush. Any time now.

A friend sent me this story today:

This is the Washington Post today, hardly an expose but it includes critical statements about Israeli policies (especially towards/in Gaza) that haven’t been seen in that paper for quite a while….

Comment from A Sabrosky: (he responds to Debbie’s comment above)

No, it will flow the other way: the Zionists here will pressure the Zionists there to tighten controls, perhaps implementing laws like those now in force in Australia. Besides, Britain is at best the US “Man Friday,” and even if it kicked hard against the traces, that would not spill over into the US. Only a catastrophe in the US, or one affecting the American people badly, can upset the Zionist applecart here.
