US Senator John McCain gives the game away – the real reason for an attack on Syria would be to weaken Iran… and give the US taxpayer value for money!
UK television Channel 4 news Wednesday 14 March 2012
Interview with John McCain:
Questioner: ‘…you would have us embark on a new war with Syria … (but) they are a central player in the region… ‘
McCain answer: ‘ ….It would be the greatest blow, according to our military leaders, greatest blow to Iran in 25 years,  if Assad fell – so that is also in our national security interests….’
and later….

Gen. Hugh Shelton, who was the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1997 to 2001, as the US’s top military officer has less-than-kind words for Sen. John McCain, who Shelton writes “had a screw loose because normal people just didn’t behave in that manner.”

In another part of the memoir, Shelton asserts that “[t]he John McCain that I knew was subject to wild mood swings and would break into erratic temper tantrums in the middle of a normal conversation.”
