Reflections on Israel and Palestine: ‘I’ve Been Duped’

I’ve been duped. Do you know the frustration you feel when you believed in something strongly and then you realize that the information that made you believe was from a source with an agenda to deceive? … My understanding of the struggles in the Middle East has been skewed by most of our mainstream media. I saw how coverage of the Israeli/Palestinian problem is brilliantly controlled and shaped. I pride myself in understanding how the media works … and I find I’ve been bamboozled … Most of the time we only hear one viewpoint when it comes to the interminable struggle in the Holy Land.
‘I’ve Been Duped’: Travel Guide Rick Steves Says US Media Blacks Out Israeli Occupation
Annie Robbins – Mondoweiss
Rick Steves watched “Peace, Propaganda, and the Promised Land” and had an epiphany, he has seen the light. If you happen to be one of the 3.5 people in America who have never heard of Rick Steves watch this “60 Minutes” episode. He’s huge, the only famous American tour guide … Can’t get much more mainstream than that. He’s the all-American boy (that’s how he strikes this California girl anyway). So imagine my surprise when I read his recent article on Huffington Post, “Reflections on Israel and Palestine.”
Peace, Propaganda, And The Promised Land
Media Education Foundation – Video

Through the voices of scholars, media critics, peace activists, religious figures, and Middle East experts, “Peace, Propaganda, & the Promised Land: U.S. Media and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict ,” carefully analyzes and explains how — through the use of language, framing and context — the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza remains hidden in the news media, and Israeli colonization of the occupied territories appears to be a defensive move rather than an offensive one. This 2003 video presentation shows how American public perceptions about the Middle East are manipulated. Runtime: 79 mins.

Palestinian Prisoners Launch Massive Hunger Strike in Israeli Jails
http://www.democracynow.org/2012/4/17/headlines#4175
Some 1,200 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails have reportedly begun an open-ended hunger strike. An additional 2,300 declared they would not eat for one day as Palestinians mark Prisoners’ Day. The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports the hunger strikers are protesting against what they call “humiliating” measures in Israeli prisons, including strip searches of visiting family members and night searches of prison cells, as well as the jailing of many prisoners without trial. Several Palestinians are already on extended hunger strikes, including Tair Halala and Balal Diab who have not eaten for 48 days. Khader Adnan, a Palestinian who ended a 66-day hunger strike in February, is due to be released from prison today.

Surprises in the Israeli-Iranian Duel
By Patrick Seale

Listen to former Israel minister mention how the ‘anti-Semitic trick’ is used in following video:
Calling people anti-semitic is not a trick, I would not classify it as a trick, but more of a shield to hide their nasty little ways of doing things. They are calling the USS Liberty survivors anti-semitic. and some of us who are survivors were among the most trusted in the U S Navy, carrying Top Secret clearances which were not given away to just anyone. This is how low our government has sunk, and so if I am anti-semitic then I must hate myself. I don’t think so.
Never forget, ” A nation that forgets its warriors, will soon be forgotten itself”. We are entering that catagory without a doubt.
Ron, that is exactly what the former Israeli minister is conveying via that youtube linked above and below again for your reference!:

Even Cindy McCain (who bills herself as being such a stauch supporter of US military veterans via Honorvet.org which she is associated with as well doesn’t care about Israel murdering/maiming American sailors and marines on the USS Liberty apparent because her husband and his admiral Father have been involved with the cover-up as conveyed via the links at the following URL):
