I agree that not too much emphasis should be placed on Blair’s words, which are subject to multiple interpretations. In any case, Colin Powell is a more reliable source than Blair on the political dynamics within the Bush/Cheney administration with regard to the propaganda campaign to invade and occupy Iraq:

What Netanyahu did while the Vice President of the United States was there, was embarrassing and shameful.
It is recognized that the Prime Minister approves all settlement issues as well as assassinations by the mossad.
The land on which settlements are built belongs to the government, most which was confiscated from the indigenous Palestinian Christians and Muslims. Now Christian priests in Arab East Jerusalem and Bethlehem are being spit on by the “settlers,” most foreign to the land. The “settlers” quickly move into the subsidized settlements, some living there just parttime like on a vacation – some call them “vacation condos.” Of course the US is paying for that while millions of Americans are suffering economically. The last amount approved, 30 billion dollars, was first approved by George Bush just as he was leaving office. Then it was approved by Obama a few days ago and he signed it. It just seems such a slap in the face of hard working Americans without jobs. And since Israel is a rich, nuclear armed foreign country that does not need aid.
